Bernadette. Peters was born Bernadette. Lazzara, born in Ozone Park Queens New York on 28 February 1948 is a singer/songwriter and a writer of children's books. Her career spans five decades and includes the stage, television as well as solo performances and recording. She is among Broadway's most well-known performers. She was nominated in seven Tony Awards (winning two) She also took home eight Drama Desk Awards. Grammy Awards were won for four Broadway casts albums in which she performed. Peters started her acting career performing on stage during the 1960s when she was young people, but she went on to work in 1970s in television as well as film.
